http://www.morganparkraceway.com.au/circuit.htmcheck the link out, scroll down and see the new layout of Morgan Park. We now will have a long track option in QLD. Ive been going to Morgan park for years and great to see what the club up there has done. Definitely our premier track and the surface will be back to flat as a billiard table again. Lets make sure the track record stays with Superkarts when it opens later in the year. Cameron

Awesome. Rumour suggests the furtherest new corner may even be slightly banked. Certainly need new gear sets.

This is the new track layout that will be released mid year. New lap records and outright lap records are just waiting for you to set.

I bet the lap record is set on lap 1 of the first catergory in the first race when the track puts on its first race meeting. I'll also bet that lap record is reset on lap 2. Gee, it could even be a beated up old Gemini since they are normally start the Morgan Pk meetings off at 9:00am.

But better be a Superkart by days end as this is one of the last tracks left where the Superkarts hold the outright record. Cameron

Having spoken to the track owners on the weekend during the race meeting, they have informed me that it looks like the first meeting on the new longer track will be the Shannons Nationals meeting. I will let you know of any updates as they come to hand. Did I mention that we have about 5 Queenslanders who are trying to get the Outright and Superkart lap records before the new layout comes into effect? 1 Anderson Maverick Div 1/FPE could run 1 minute even on slicks with drizzling rain. Very impressive.

Wouldn't it be more impressive that a Stockman/Honda did a quicker time in that very same race??

True story Sam, Chryss Jamieson, Vince Livadities and Steve Murray were also dicing for the lead as well. At 1 point, there were 7 lead changes in 1 lap in race 3. Lets not forget that the "King" Carlo Chermaz still hasn't had a run yet either. I wonder if anyone is going to run a book on the 250 International winner this year? With a record number of Queenslanders doing both rounds this year, I would have to put some hard earned on someone from up here. If you believe what some people are saying, this years Australian Championships will be the most hard fort in the history of the event.

Don't waste your hard earned in backing a Queenslander. They are 1 hour behind before the green flag is even waved The sun shines outta their arse up there. Want to pick a winner.....roll the dice.

Hi all, just a quick update. The first race meeting to be held on the new circuit will be the Shannon's Nationals event which the final of the Gearbox nationals is a part of.

I f you are interested in having a run on the current Porgan Pk circuit, attached are the forms for Round 2 of the CAMS Qld State Championship Series for 2010. Please note the reduced entry cost for an early entry. It will be held on the 2.1km track and not the new 3km track which will be used for the first time at the final round of the Gearbox Championships.
